If you look closely, you can see where they stopped taking all the tiles out and replaced them. The picture isn't that great, but I tried.

This is one of the newest replacements. It doesn't fit in with the style at all. This "wise man" is taken from another church in the area. He shows movement while all the other figures do not. He is also wearing funny looking pants. Leopard print. Very in style during Jesus' time.
Here if you look closely at the middle pillar you can see a hand and wrist that was left behind. The people were removed because they were Theodoric's people, however the hands were overlooked.
This is a picture of where Theodoric once stood (in the gold part in the middle). Gold was the sign of something being holy or destined for heaven or something like that. They removed the people entirely and replaced them with plain backgrounds.
These are kissing ducks. They are very very cute.

  1. A bit too dark for me. Even when I tried to enlarge the picture.

  2. if you click on the pictures they get really big. i think they're pretty decent for being taken in a church that has really poor lighting.
