Back to Ravenna

This is the church where the floor is like forever underground.

These are some dead guy's bones.

This is the really pretty floor.

This is the original floor that is constantly underwater. They keep goldfish in there so that it stays semi-clean.

This is something random and the next picture is a close up of the words on the bottom part.

Close up of the words.

Jesus hanging on a wall.

A crest of some sort on the floor in marble or some other stone.

Me in the church.

This is a piazza. I think the name has to do with Dante. Because we were on his way to his tomb.

This is the little garden type thing that used to be a church where Dante's bones were found.

This is Dante's tomb.

This is where Dante's bones were hidden during WWII.

This is a monument close to the wall in which Dante's bones were hidden by monks when the government in Florence (who had exiled Dante) tried to get his bones back to take to Florence.

This is part of the wall where Dante's bones were found.

This is the fence around that little garden thing...

This is the inside of Dante's tomb.

Me in Dante's tomb.

A buildling.

Another building.

A street while we were walking to the national museum of this region.

Piazza del Popolo. There was a wedding right behind me. Most beautiful dress EVER.

Part of the government buildings in Piazza del Popolo.

Going towards the museum.

Inside the Museum which is connected to a Basilica, which isn't in traditional Basilica style, but is an octagon.

Artifacts hanging on the walls.

Outside courtyard of some sort.

Current floor.

Original floor. Which is like 8 feet underground.

More current floor.

Part of the choir that has lots of mosaic in it.

The choir with more mosaic.

A biblical scene.

Another biblical scene.

The empress. I think.

Somebody's mausoleum that was never used.
Window from the mausoleum.

From inside the mausoleum no flash allowed.

My Piadina.

All of us at lunch.

The end. More in the above post that happened prior to all of this.
